Illustrator can do this. CorelDraw for some reason cant.
(if it makes Draw much slower, forget I mentioned it, I'd rather have speed)
Right-click when the object is selected and choose Hide Object from the Context menu. You can also do this via the Object Manager docker by clicking its little eye icon. Patti

I didn't realize it was a premium feature, but you're right...I see it's highlighted in blue now. Thought it was blue because I was hovering over it. Just curious...Is it listed in the commands for standard membership? If it is, one could assign a shortcut.

I have X8 HOme and Student, and it's not available on that either!
I'm tempted to NEVER buy Corel software again due to the number of incredibly basic functions that are left out of the (still quite expensive) Home/student editions.
Obscure, expert-level features are left in, but essential stuff like this is taken out (seemingly at random), with absolutely no prior warning of what's going to be missing.
You get what you pay for. Around 100 bucks Home is pretty cheap. Eyes wide open. Obviously, someone disagrees with you as to what defines a basic function. As it maybe is an extra step or three to put an object on it's own layer to hide, I can't say that is nothing more than convenience and convenience is a prime target for charging extra. Why anyone wants to buy Home and Student to begin with fuddles my mind. Just buy the full version. A carpenter will fork out around $1000 for a planer jointer because it is a tool they need. They won't buy a toy one and then complain it's not fully functioning.
