Hi,
This problem is about temporary file of Windows, so it's more about Windows than Corel. The message says that your temp drive is full, but your hard disk is almost empty, so you think this message is wrong. But really it was a poor explanation on the message.
It's relative to Virtual Memory, not about RAM nor hard disk space, Windows use a swap file for storage temporary files. If you use a small swap file, it will be full frequenlty, even with smal jobs.
And, if you allows that Windows manage virtual memory, it will start with a small space, and every time CorelDRAW needs more space for storage temp files, Windows will freeze CorelDRAW until the virtual memory is enlarged. If you try to use CorelDRAW while Windows is increasing the virtual memory, the program will crash.
Increase the virtual Memory as big as possible, 20 or 30 Gb at least, and surely you will not see this message again. Also, you can use a progran such as TuneUp or CCleaner in order to clean up your temp files.
Hi there Ariel. Thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate you taking the time to answer. And this looks like a very well thought out answer and you must have had some troubles like this before. We have generally seen the same solution floating around the internet and have been recommended this by the Corel Support staff as well. We will definitely try again and see if we have met all the solutions in this email. I am pretty sure we have complied with all the pieces you have put together to make sure to keep this error from coming up and wasting time. Now, I agree it could be Windows problem, could be, However there is no other application on our machines that have problems. See what I am getting at here? All applications work perfectly can save files in other applications can auto backup files in other applications, can replicate failed applications and recover lost work in other applications, with the computer in its current state? And CorelDRAW? does not work? Not able to save the file, not able to auto backup the file and unable to recover temp files to recover the work we have done? Does that not seem weird to you? Still in search of CEO of Corel email address to see if anyone has made him aware of this issue?
So even if we find out it ends up being a Windows issue, don't you think CorelDRAW owes its user community an error message to say hey this message is coming up because of this Virtual Memory needs to be increased? If the problem was that easy to solve they surely would have done that and we would not be seeing this error message splashed across the internet, blogs, help sites, and community. What do you think?
We Usually set Virtual Memory to 16gb will make sure to test with 20 to 30gb We generally have been having same issue regardless. We also use CCleaner so not sure if its not doing the best job. We have also tried TuneUP. However we still have the issue. Any further help or even your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I agree that this problem is more frequent on CorelDRAW than other programs. And it's nothing new. Do you remember the old CARM? (Corel Application Recovery Manager). We all hate this message, that alert about low system resources. Most of the times, when this warning appears it was too late. The program crashed anyway. So, i tried to figure why this message happens, and how to increase those "system resources" that it seems not to be relative to RAM or free disk space. So, I found that this "virtual memory" make the difference. Then, I no longer have those problems, since several years ago. But I saw the same issue on several other users, and increasing the sawp file made a huge difference, Other common advice, such as reduce the amount of installed fonts, also could help but it doesn't make a big difference, unless the user have thousands of installed fonts. Include CMX on the "save" option seem to help too, but it's not relative to the same problem.
