Why is there so many backups.

Why is there so many backups? This normally didn't happen before. but when I do certain things I save the file to protect against a crash. I don't have "backup on save" checked, so I don't know what the deal is.

    Hi Jeron,
    Does your backup create a new file or does it overwrite the old one.
    If it creates a new one, can you let me know how it happens if you find out.
    Better yet, I would like to have an automatic backup every so many minutes with a new file.
