I'm designing a tradeshow display at full scale in X7. Size with crop marks is 221"w x 108"h. When I make a pdf for the third party they inform me that the file comes in at 200"w x ....
Sure enough when I open the pdf in illy it's cutting it off. I try to create a new doc in illy that's 275"w and it pops up telling me the limit is 227.54"
I can import the pdf back into coreldraw with no problems. I'm going to scale it 50% then make the pdf but....
That the heck is illy?
Adobe Illustrator. Here's a little tid bit of info to add to the bump of this old thread. Last year Adobe added a large canvas mode to Illustrator, which shifts the maximum artboard size from 227" X 227" up to 2275" X 2275". They're basically doing a bit of trickery under the hood to make that possible. There are some limitations. You can't take an existing AI document and change its canvas to a size larger than 227" X 227". A new document has to be created in that larger size. Any AI file in large canvas mode that is saved down to an earlier version of Illustrator will see its artboard reduced in size to 10% of the previous size.BTW, the max artboard size of CorelDRAW is 1800" X 1800". Every drawing program has its limits with artboard sizes. None are unlimited.
