This usually means that a background save has not completed.
When the save button is greyed out, you should also see the background tasks icon (circled) at the bottom right of the screen:
Click on that and it should display the progress of the file being saved and, possibly, errors that happened while saving it.
Any clues there?
If there are no clues and it is happening often, you can turn off the background saves at tools > options > global
Thank you. I'll look out for the notification on the bottom bar and let you know what happens when the issue is replicated next.
I've tweaked a couple of the save settings too, to see if that helps.
Stuart - the same thing is happening here. How's the tweaks working at your end?
Thanks,
Anna McCullough
Not sure if corel fixed the issue but if not here is a possible workaround . Use the "Collect for output" item in the FILE dropdown menu. -File-collect for output -automatically gather...NEXT -check include cdr...NEXT -...NEXT -...NEXT - check "place in a compressed zip (OPTIONAL)...NEXT) this will save all the files including the unsaved cdr.
Close CorelDraw x7. Re-Run Corel and load up your CDR.Save / Save as will now be in their normal state.I understand auto-backup will be disabled however in my case I prefer to do my own backups.so disable Background tasks as previously requested by other members if you like. hope this helps. Good Luck.
