I tried opening up a project in my CorelDraw x7 and it is loading very slow! I JUST bought a custom build computer with 16GB and fast processor, so it should not be doing this. I tried opening up the same project in illustrator and it loads just fine.
When I try and open in Corel, it loads every object and layer of object one at a time. When I try to move an object it loads everything on the screen one at a time again.
It would be very difficult to work on anything with this issue. Any ideas what is causing this? I'm thinking its a corel issue since it opens up fast in illustrator.
okay here is a link to a screen video showing you just how slow a sample file is loading http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/c2QV3ynPhO
the 1st part is loading in Corel. After loading I could not even click on an object, just froze and locked up on me. 2nd part shows me opening up the same file in illustrator and it opens up REALLY FAST.
What's going on?!
Boomhauer said: Your computer is plenty powerful, no need to replace the ram or power supply. I would however look at your video card drivers; AMD had some problems with older drivers that caused problems with graphic programs. Here is a link to AMD driver updates. support.amd.com
Boomhauer... I just checked for the drive, and its all up to date. this computer that I am having this issue on is brand new, I've only had it for a few days.
I also tried to reinstall Corel a couple of times. Still no luck, very slow loading graphics..
Is it possible that I got a bad disk?
I just can't wrap my head around this on why its perfectly fine in illustrator, but will NOT load fast in Corel?? I freelance full time from home, so I really need to get this figured out soon.
Another question, where was the "original" file from? Was it a PDF by chance or an illustrator file that was converted to a Corel .cdr extension? I'm still thinking it was originally an EPS.
Mike,
No it was a Corel file that I created 100% in CorelDRAW. It was running FINE up until a few days ago when I had to reinstall it on my new computer.
