I tried opening up a project in my CorelDraw x7 and it is loading very slow! I JUST bought a custom build computer with 16GB and fast processor, so it should not be doing this. I tried opening up the same project in illustrator and it loads just fine.
When I try and open in Corel, it loads every object and layer of object one at a time. When I try to move an object it loads everything on the screen one at a time again.
It would be very difficult to work on anything with this issue. Any ideas what is causing this? I'm thinking its a corel issue since it opens up fast in illustrator.
Intersting. What happens when you import the AI file into Corel, then save it as a Corel file.
its not just this file, its a big bulk of them. Every time I move something, or open a file everything reloads. It's like everything on my page is always trying to refresh.
Any more ideas from anyone on what might be causing this? I work from home, so I'm pretty much out of commission until I get this figured out.
I've already opened up a support ticket too.
Are you comparing a file that you've fully ungrouped with a previous version of the file (on the previous computer) where the objects were mostly in groups?
For the operations you are describing, a group of objects takes a lot less time to select or deselect. Probably it processes a whole group at a time instead of single objects when ungrouped.
Another problem is if you have a texture constructed as a lot of individual lines or shapes, rather than being implemented as a texture. Though this is usually caused by importing material from PDF files created by other programs.
this is happening on several different files, not just one. They are all doing the problem like this link http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/c2QV3ynPhO
the files are all flat vector Corel files with no special effects, gradients etc. plus if they were I figured that should not matter with this new upgraded system with plenty of RAM and good processor.
