blur edge and round the corners

Ok, sorry for the delay in replying to your post. Please understand that I am totally ignorant of most of the tools and how to access them. So here is where I am at now. I have opened a new file in Corel draw and imported a .jpg picture file. Do I understand correctly that that is now a bitmap file that I have saved, correct? And where do I find the Fillet/Scallop/Chamfer docker? Are you talking about the tool icons on the left like the pick and shape tools?

I did find the Edit Bitmap and used the feather to get the effect, but get lost in where I am to go next. Because when I try to close the file it says I have to exit the bitmap editor.

And I do apologize for my ignorance and limited knowledge of such a powerful editing tool. I am using this picture to put on a t-shirt with a heat transfer.
Even though when I view the image in paint I do not see anything but the checker board back ground behind the softened edge that I want, which indicates that there is nothing there ( no color ). The problem I am struggling with is anything I do to the edge seem to still produce a white edge when I print out a heat transfer.

Just to let you know I am using an Okidata pro 920 WT printer to create these and it does print white for dark t-shirts unlike a normal printer using black.

Yes, JPG is a bitmap, su you can't use Fillet/Scallop/Chamfer. You should create a rectangle around the bitmap (tip: select the JPG image, hold Shift and double clik over the rectangle tool), then use the Shape tool (F10, it's the second tool) and adjust the roundness of the corners. Then. select the bitmap and go to Object / powerclip / place inside frame and select the rectangle. Now you can apply a drop shadow (use the drop shadow tool of the toolbox)

Hello Moesno; If you are going to use Corel to make imprints for resale, you should play with PP, and Draw a LOT to learn what can be done. You can learn a LOT by coming here and asking questions, BUT it is BETTER than learning the programs and what can be done with them. It takes YEARS to learn ANY graphics program. ( They are getting more complex all the time..... )That's why it takes SO long to get to where you want to be with a program to work WELL for anyone. Corel is the BEST program for the job. ( I THINK ) I learn New things all the time by coming here and reading the posts, and I started out using ver. 1 in 1990. Devote about 25 hours a day learning Corel, and it wont be long you'll be able to tell anyone how things are done...... You CAN put a raster file in Draw now with out any problem, and remove the background with out to much trouble, and you can send it to PP for editing and return it to add work. Just don't give up, KEEP learning.............

Here's another alternative for blurring edges in Photopaint.
I assume that you already have an object (aka layer) whose edges you want to blur.

1. MASK > CREATE FROM OBJECT
2. MASK > MASK OUTLINE > BORDER
3. EFFECTS > BLUR > GAUSSIAN BLUR

If you don't want to blur the entire edge, use the Brush Mask in the subtractive mode to erase the portion that should not be blurred.
