I, and I only, opened the file and made some changes but when I hit save I get this.
Closed Corel, dumped temp files. Still gives me the same message after trying to open the file.
Gonna try and restart pc.
Restating pc worked. Must be a network thing. Happens often to me and my co-worker.
Are you running on a Domain or peer to peer network?
Don't make my head explode. lol
I'm not the Network/pc guy. He'll blame the software every time. If I had to guess I'd say Domain.
This stuff is always a permissions issue, not that the permissions are set incorrectly it's that the system thinks that the file is already open by someone else and denies permission to overwrite. In domains this can be caused by heavy traffic between the client and sever especially in cases like CorelDRAW where the request is for a compressed file where significant amount of decompression is required. A large number of file access requests can make thing worse.
What I've done many times is run two or more networks with the accounting and business team on a secure domain and the graphics team on a wide open peer to peer isolated from the domain.
I do remember that the file I was working on was fairly large and when I hit save I went right explorer and tried opening a different file not realizing that one wasn't finished saving. In doing so, it opened another instance of Corel. I didn't want the two open at once so I closed out of the new one then went back to one that was saving. It appeared to be done but the save icon wasn't grayed out so I hit save again and that's when the message popped up.
