Is it possible to force the fraction symbol in a dimension without setting the object style? I have set the 'replace while typing' option with the fractions added to the list of replacements but they do not apply until I break apart the dimension and add/delete a space. See the snippet and video below.
Curious to know if someone as any idea. I've been trying to figure it out with no luck. I learned that the space can be added after the fraction without breaking apart the dim feature.
not that way, this way
with nothing selected click and hold on the fraction drop down and make your choice then check the highlighted areas, hit ok, then tools/save settings as default
Bravo, Myron! That's an excellent solution!
That can be used in a Character style, and that Character style can be used with an Outline style and a Dimension style to create a Style set to format dimensions.
Done that way, there is no need to change document defaults - and the style set can be imported into other documents any time you want to use it.
This is a video of me creating a new style set, adding the styles, and using it on a couple of dimensions.
VIDEO: style set, dimension, use fractions
The first font I used in the character style doesn't have characters for 1/8, 3/8, 5/8, etc.
The second font - Arial - does.
I'm so glad it works for you. Please send me your computer and CorelDraw X7 installation so that it works like that on my end. As I have already stated and shown with a video, the fraction setting affects the whole number as well. I tested this on 3 computers and they all did the same thing. I have the latest patch. What gives?
I'm just a bit frustrated. Whenever people pop up and say 'works great on my end', that never helps. I'm still stuck with the problem.

I demonstrated a procedure - starting from scratch with an empty style set - that worked for me.
I didn't "pop up" and say that everything is just fine. I just can't replicate what you are seeing.
There is a simple, easy way for me to be sure not to offend you in such a way in the future.
