This has been an issue I have been experiencing for a long time. I'm currently on CorelDraw2020 subscription. Each time I purchase an Scalable Vector (.eps) from stock, I'm unable to edit the file. I have done everything under the sun but still no joy. My colleagues in the industry using illustrator has no issues opening the same file that I am unable to open in CorelDraw.
SVG's or eps? If your trying to open SVG's, download Inkscape (it's free) and use it to open SVG's and export as an eps from there. Hope this helps.
I don't know why eps seems to be the norm with these free vector clipart sites. Eps is not the most compatible format across multiple platforms. Especially if gradients are involved. We just happen to have both illustrator and corel so if corel doesn't get it I can use illustrator to open it then save out as pdf. Better if they just make svg or pdf.
Thanks Mike, but it is EPS files purchased from Bigstock and Shutterstock. Apparently, according to them this is a common issue with CD
Yeah you're right Myron, but unfortunately most paid stock photos like Bigstock and Shutter stock offer these vector images in scalable EPS form. And if CorelDraw has not found a solution to this problem then that's a minus. There's no point in paying for a subscription that does the job half way. Might as well ditch CD altogether and go with Illustrator.
