I am trying import a png into Corel Draw and never seem to get a descent vector output, after trying all the different available options (quick trace, high quality image, etc.). Seems all the lines are squiggly, fat and thin, gray and black, etc. The Png files are typically not super high resolution, so the prigram doesn't reproduce very well. The original would be fine, if it kept straight lines, like original, but of course no bitmap jaggies.
Trying to import this, without literally hours of rework
The problem is the bitmap size limit in X7. Something like this is always going to be problematic if its low res.
If the original isnt really high res try running the image through one of the AI upscaling applications., but then you'd need to find a copy of Trace v12 as that has no file size limit. Or put a copy here and I'll do it.
'Fraid the alternative is manual tracing, but its not overly complex.
Later versions, 2022 seem to have resolved some of those issues.
You could always try downloading an SVG drawing:
commons.wikimedia.org/.../File:Boeing_B-17_Flying_Fortress.svg
Nice find Roy!
Although my X7 crashes when ungrouping it. Had to open in illustrator and saved out as a pdf and all is good.
Thanks. So I downloaded the SVG file and that is pretty good :). The only problem now, is how to actually make all the different shapes on plane editable (add rendering, shading, base colors). All i can select are lines.
