There has to be a better way to find an answer to a similar problem faced by many.
The first thing I do is to set up CorelDRAW to only see installed and system fonts, the filters are in the font drop down. You may have fonts that are improperly created in storage.
You can try resetting the font manager by holding F8 and resetting the application and the font data base. Then allow the time it takes to rebuild the font data base completely before moving on.
Hello Mike Wingrove: I would look at the computer or things that are installed in it......... Corel Font Manager is one of the best I have ever used,. Make SURE you point it at your fonts !!!! What kind of a setup are you running? I put all but the fonts Windows has to use in a separate directory. Good Luck with the Problem....... F8 is one way to Reset Corel....

Personally, I work with FontExpert. It's practically flawless. I've tried Corel's Font Manager, because it seemed so easy to use. But many font families appeared with dingbats and strange symbols instead of the right characters. So, I went back to FontExpert and everything went back to normal. My experience. Corel Font Manager: Easy to use, easy to find everything you need. Font are easily categorized. Font become faulty. FontExpert: Everything CFM has and more. Not so easy to use, interface pretty complex, takes some time to get used to. No problems with font none whatsoever. CFM: FREE with CDR FontExpert: 59$ US.
