Hello to whomever,I recently upgraded to CorelDraw Graphics Suite x8 from the x6 version. Since doing so I have been unable to install additional fonts on my new Dell XPS i7 computer running Windows 10. When trying to do so through the Corel Font manager program, my computer crashes and reboots every time. I tried to use the x5 bitstream font manager program with no success. Crash and reboot occurs. Please help. I hope I have supplied enough info to get an answer. Thanks.
Yes, X8 runs as a separate installation and doesn't need X5, but they work fine side by side too. * If you uninstall X5, you may have to do a Repair of your X8 installation afterwards, but I assume you installed X8 after X5 so it is probably not necessary. From what you describe, I doubt neither X5 (Bitstream Font Navigator) nor X8 (Corel Font Manager) could be blamed though. Sounds like you are having a system issue. Do you have full permission to install fonts for example?
* I suggest you keep X5, at least for a while until you know X8 works as expected and can do anything that X5 did. There is for example a limited support for old CDR files in X8.
If the Windows Font Tool won't install a font, Windows is broken. It has nothing to do with any other program. Something is wrong with Windows. Corrupt folder, missing system components or DLL's, or wrong permissions come to mind.
You need to fix Windows. I'd wipe the drive ( format) install Windows, make sure it's fully updated and can install fonts, then install X8 only.
