Re: Windows 10 Pro > 1703.15063.13 [Creators Update]CorelDRAW & Corel Font Manager X8 22.214.171.1241Two very similar i7 [2700K] Desktops systems but totally separate
Hope I am not committing a mortal sin by coping my post from the CDGS X18 section, which has not yet received a precise reply in relation to the 'Creators Update' of Windows 10.I have experimented with the Creator's Update [Windows 10 Pro 1703.15063.13]. On both systems I found that installed fonts were retained only within a session that was put to 'Sleep'. 'Shutdown' and 'Restart' resulted in the loss of all installed fonts [not deleted], except Windows Protected System Fonts.Corel Font Manager X8 would fail to correctly display fonts installed from Groups in Bitstream Font Navigator 17 [X7] — until all the Groups were uninstalled / reinstalled. But these would again be lost with a Shutdown or Restart.I am most anxious to learn if others are experiencing this problem? I find it hard to imagine that it has not been reported yet and therefore am inclined to conclude that it is an artifact of the upgrade process from my two Windows 10 1607s. To that end, I downloaded a Batch File from Windows TenForums to clear Windows font cache. It ran on Creators Update but failed to resolve the issue.Of course, I imaged both 1607 systems prior to running the Creators Update and have now restored both computers to the Anniversary Update: Windows 10 Pro 1607.14393.969, in which — on both computers — there are no font issues and Corel Font Manger X8 / Bitstream Font Navigator 17 [X7] operate normally.
I have download but not installed CorelDRAW 2017, not wishing to complicate the issue.
Grateful for suggestions!
I had the same problem, but now corrected by latest Windows 10 update - 2017-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4020102)
Unfortunately the problem is NOT fixed. It was OK after the restart following the update, but with subsequent boots the same problem exists.
Another cumulative Windows update (2017-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4025342)) fails to address the problem. Again, font shortcuts work after the enforced reboot following the update, but then fails on all subsequent reboots. Come on Corel - take this issue up with Microsoft to get a solution!
There are loads, all TT. Two examples:
Font name: CalligrapherVersion: Altsys Fontographer 3.5 5/26/92TrueType Outlines
Font name: CommonBulletsTrueType Outlines
I think Calligrapher was supplied with an old version of CorelDraw, whereas Common Bullets was a Microsoft font. The odd thing is that all font shortcuts work on the first reboot after all Windows Updates, after that they all fail again unless they are uninstalled and then re-installed - until the next reboot
Fix won't be until Windows Fall update:
Not sure if this will fix the performance issue though. As long as they reverse what they (Microsoft) caused WITHOUT checking it before making it primetime, it should, but who knows. What a shame... half a year later fix hopefully.
There appears to be a fix in the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16278
Problem was caused by a bug in Trend Micro Internet Security - problem now resolved by new version released today.
Font Shortcuts now work correctly with Win10 version 1709 (Fall Creators Update). Problem fixed after 6 months.
