Cut off text/font in selection. Cannot access Open type/alternate features.

I have many fonts that include alternate characters that I substitute using this method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBVsufJjons

I never had any trouble in X7. Since upgrading to X8 many of my fonts will not allow access to the alternates anymore and remain visually cut-off unless I convert them to curves. Of course after this conversion, alternates are no longer available because the shapes are no longer text.

    I believe using Paragraph text frames will solve the bottoms being cut off. As well, a PDF will be correct. X7, if I recall, had this issue in at least one of the updates as well. It began with X6 and was also subsequently fixed.

    The problem is basically that the font author set the descender to be equal to the baseline, which is a technical no-no. And before you mention it (if you do...) Adobe applications do not have this issue as they use their own font subsystem and do not rely on the OS font subsystem.
