Hi Everybody,
I have three questions.
1. I can't find a definition of "pure" black on the internet. See color tab in print dialog.Is it (0, 0, 0, 100) or (92, 79, 62, 98) (rich black).
2. What does the check box do. I have not seen any difference when converting sRGB to CMYK if the box is checked off or not.
3. Just to save the cost of colored ink, is there a way to get a photo to print sRGB black as (0, 0, 0, 100) on a consumer level printer. I can live without rich black.
Phil
Side note: if someone is going to use a CMYK-based rich black it might be a good idea to know the printer's total ink limit before manually punching in some numbers. Funny example: around 10 years ago we received some customer provided artwork that we had to output through a Roland VersaCAMM thermal inkjet large format printer. The graphics were coming out of the printer where the black ink colors in the logo were literally wet on the vinyl. It turned out the genius who created the artwork used C:100 M:100 Y:100 K:100 for his rich black. Derp! The combination of the printer, types of inks and print media being used will affect total ink numbers and limits.
