Hello,

My name is Tiffany and I'm pretty new to Corel Draw.

Currently I'm working on a project that requires me to make an image ready for embroidery.

I have no idea where to start. Can someone help me?

Depends on what you are doing? Are you digitizing the art yourself? If so what program?
If you are sending this to a digitizer. A simple .JPG will do fine , just no color gradients.

Yes, I'm trying to digitize the image myself using Corel Draw Graphics Suite x8.

I've been digitizing for 30 years now and have been using Coreldraw since day1.
What digitizing program are you using and what brand machines?

I have the new Melco16 machines and i am using Designshop 10.

CorelDraw used to have a digitizing program called Drawstitch I believe, you could digitize for a number of different machines.
My question to you would be... what do you need corel for? A vector or a JPG file?

My design software imports a jpg and i digitize over top of it.
My design software will also turn a jpg into a vector and then it will auto stitch that vector.

Corel could be used to create the artwork, but it will not digitize it. You will need to convert the corel artwork into a graphic file the digitizing software can import, and digitize over the imported piece of art.

All you can do with CorelDraw is create the design artwork. You will need another program to do the actual digitising to get it ready to be used on an embroidery machine.
There are many programs available. From a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.
Currently Corel has teamed up with Wilcom and have a package where Wilcom does the embroidery side and Corel does the graphics side.

If you are not going to be doing a lot of this embroidery related work, I would suggest outsourcing the digitising part.

Thank you for answering.
Right now I'm not using any digitizing program though I have Great Cut which I've been told you could digitize with that though I'm not sure if that's true. Our embroidery machines are Barudans.
I'm honestly really new to all this and have been learning everything as I go.
My manager just gave me an image and told me to see if I could figure out how to digitize it and make it ready for embroidery after we got all these new programs and equipment. (Corel Draw and GCC with GCC Vinyl Cutter).
