The ads are generated by an entry in the Microsoft Task Scheduler. To disable it; type Task Scheduler in the cortana search and then click on Task Scheduler desktop app. Look for the task CorelUpdateHelperTaskCore. In the Status column click on disable. If you prefer, you may right click on the entry and edit the Triggers. Mine was scheduled to run everyday at 1:53pm. You may change it to every week, month or select only one month a year.
