auto-caps problem

I'm trying to type a small "i" alone in a text box but it keeps auto-capping it.....Text Properties in x8 does offer a case control "ab" but it doesn't stop the auto-cap. How can I set Corel to reverse the auto-cap so that I don't have to draw a small i in?
