So a problem I get consistently with CorelDraw is when I try to cut pieces out of other objects/ curves. I have a logo that Im trying to make one object so that there are holes or negative space within it. Corel does cut the shape out but visually it still shows the area filled in. If I use the shape tool I can see that the nodes of that shap are a part of the object but theres some sort of glitch where it stays filled in. Sometimes its because there are nodes that arent connected and I can just drag them together to connect them. But in this case that is not happening. What do I do?
Here Ive outlined in red where the simplify cut out should be, but you can see its still black. The right side is what it looked like originally before I simplified it.
i come across this problem very often.
What i do is contour to inside or outside (your preference) the very smallest setting, and use that.
It usually fixes the problem
What do you mean by "What i do is contour to inside or outside (your preference) the very smallest setting, and use that."
What is "contour"? How do I use it?
If you can see the nodes in the path that is still filled, select one node with the Shape tool and reverse its direction. See attached.
Wow thanks! I had heard about this once before but I couldnt find the icon for reversing the direction. I didnt realize you need the shape tool selected.
Reversing the already simplified object didnt work but changing the direction before simplifying worked! THANK YOU!
You're welcome.
