The following is undocumented and unsupported. I'm providing this information with the hope that it will be useful and helpful for CorelDraw users.

For X7 and X8, Vector fills, bitmap fills and fountain fills are all encapsulated inside a (.fill) file. To my knowledge, there is no easy way to directly edit a vector fill in X7 or X8. To edit a vector fill, we need to expose the internals of the (.fill).

    1. Locate a (.fill) file you want to edit. If you're looking for a fill you downloaded from the Content exchange, it is probably in your documents\corel\corel content\fills folder.
    2. Copy your (.fill) file and paste it somewhere. We want to work on a copy to avoid messing up the original.
    3. Rename the copy to a (.zip) file and open up the file.
    4. Browse into the content\data folder.
    5. If the (.fill) file is a vector fill, you should find a (.cmx) file. This file contains the vector of the vector fill and CorelDraw understands this file natively. Copy the (.cmx) file and paste it somewhere for editing.
    6. Open the (.cmx) file with CorelDraw and edit the vector.

To recreate a (.fill) file you could try a few things:

    1. Object properties docker > Fill > Vector pattern fill > New from document
      1. also available from Object Styles docker
    2. Try to put the (.cmx) back into the (.zip) file and rename it back to (.fill).

Hope this makes things a little easier for you.
