How is everyone today? I am having a challenge and I hope I can receive some help. I'm using CorelDraw X8 to draw artistic patterns for plasma cutting. when I draw an arch the end nodes connect and convert the single line into a connected curve. I would like to to have a single curved line that isn't connected. Is there a setting I've missed? thank you.
For a little further information, I draw in wireframe mode and I only see the connected curve when I switch the view of drawing to enhanced.
For a visual image, imagine a " C " I want to cut the C in one line. In wire frame mode it looks like a C, when I view in enhanced mode the beginning and end of the C is connected.
I can't be absolutely sure, but I think you might be talking about whether a Curve is "closed" or not.
If that's the case, then look at the Shape tool and the associated editing capabilities. For example, selecting a node on a closed curve and "breaking" the curve there will cause that curve to no longer be closed.
I believe we are talking about the same thing. Thank you for the reply. I see where you can close the curve and break apart nodes. Nothing for breaking apart curve. And yes I've tried the break apart function and It doesn't give me the desired result.
When I select my shaping tool, then select one of the two nodes on curve I'm working on, right click my mouse. The closed curve option has a check mark beside it.
Here are two videos showing:
VIDEO: Open Curve (using right-click from a selected node).
VIDEO: Open Curve 2 (using the "Break Curve" button on the Property Bar).

Personally, I think that making "Close Curve" a toggle for opening a Curve is a confusing UI design - but it works that way, so I covered it.
