Hey Guys.
I was using Ctrl + . (period) to rotate text.
My default when I go to add text now is rotated 270deg.
I can't get it back to 0deg, I have tried unrotating the text using Ctrl + , (comma) and setting it to 0deg on the menu bar and Save Settings as Default but nothing works.
I have restarted CDR
Does anybody know how to fix this without F8ing CDR??
TIA
Thanks John & Mike, I finally reimported my saved workspace and that fixed the problem.
What a funny glitch I was using the shortcut in one file and when I started a new document the text was permanetly rotated even in paragraph text.
Glad you got it corrected.
Mike
CorelDRAW workspaces... wicked, tricksy, false!
Chris, I know you fixed this at the workspace level, but I'm following up after seeing another recent thread on this topic, and then looking for more information on horizontal/vertical text.
I found some instructions on that here: Why are new text objects vertical?
If I understand correctly, if one uses the Ctrl+. (Ctrl+period) shortcut for Vertical Text when nothing is selected, then it sets an Application Preference for Vertical Text. That application preference doesn't apply just to new documents. It applies to any new Text object that is created. As an application preference, it stays that way until the user switches off Vertical Text manually, or switches to a workspace in which Vertical Text is not active.
This shows up in the Registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\CorelDRAW\18.0\Draw\Application Preferences\FarEast Text Options\ as "VerticalText".
