How can I stop CorelDRAW X8 from nagging me to upgrade?

Everytime I close my purchased CorelDRAW X8 copy, I get a nagging advertisement screen telling me to upgrade.

How can I stop this nagging screen from appearing?

NB: It's illegal to sell products to Germany showing such nagging screens without explicit consent and without option to easily opt-out of such consent.

    I've found a way to defeat this...

    open the C:\Users\*username*\appdata\Roaming\Corel\Messages folder and delete the contents

    now navigate up one level to C:\Users\*username*\appdata\Roaming\Corel\

    right click the messages folder and click properties then security. Choose the Everyone group and click edit and then remove. Then click ok and ok.

    This works for me on version 2018.
