We were sent CDRs that have images embedded. I need to get these into Photoshop for editing. I thought CD had a simple way to ‘unembed’ or ‘convert to linked image’ but so far I haven’t found that option.
These are MASSIVE images that crash CD when trying to export to any type of file format (pdf, jpg, tif, etc), and the client does not have these images separate from within the CDR.
This is a simple matter in AI, Affinity...heck, even InkScape does this without a fuss. How do I do this in Corel?
embedded? You mean linked? If you mean linked, no. That means the actual images are kept somewhere else on the designers network. They would have to send the actual images. We never use "linked" images. More pain than what it's worth.
Right click, edit bitmap. These images didn't crash your clients system!
Some code is here.
But you may need to just optimize the images right in the file instead with this inexpensive macro:

Or if you like Photoshop, round trip with that instead.
