When I completely select the art in my workspace it will show me a measurement, but the measurement (width in this example) always does not include outlines. In this instance it is text with some outlines. I know that if I convert the outlines to curves it will give me proper width. I would rather not do this because many times I have to go back and edit the text in the art. So my question is if there is a way to get a proper width that includes outlines? Thanks for your time.

You might look at my Rect Area Dims macro.
If Use True Size of Objects is checked, then the dimensions reported include outline widths, corner styles, etc.
Thanks for the speedy reply! I like the Macro. I am currently using Smart Designer X7. I guess it is like a shell with a bunch of macros built in. Will your macro interfere with the SmartDesigner shell to the best of your knowledge? Thanks again for your time!
