Hello,
I'm working on coredraw x3 and when I try and use one of my installed fonts such as LHF Lincoln it's in the drop down menu but once I try and change text to the LHF lincoln font the sample text goes blank. When I find the LHF font in the drop down menu it doesnt show an example of the font style like the rest of the fonts I have installed. I tried to reinstall but no luck. Any font I have installed that doesn't show a preview of the font, I can't use. Most of them are OTF fonts but I have other OTF fonts that work fine. Any ideas as to why a font in my font list shows up but goes blank when I try and apply the font style to some text?
Thank you for your help!!!

Are they Corel's font?
Who build them?
Hello:
I just installed Corel X4 today, and had the same problem (runnning Windows XP, 1024x768). The only fonts that would display in my drop-down were my Type 1 fonts. My immediate solution was to go to "Tools/Options/Workspace/Text/Fonts..." and disable "Show flyouts..." and "Use font to display font name..."
It cured the display problem in my drop-down, and displayed the font selection in my sample font on the page, which allows me to work.
As a test, I intalled X4 on my laptop (Windows Vista) and there was no problem.
Initially, I thought the problem might be that many of my fonts are not in "Windows/Fonts" and are accessed by pointer files, but this does not seem to be the case.

As a followup to my CorelX4 font display problems, I went in to the Control Panel/Diplay and set my Hardware Acceleration down from the "Full" setting. This immediately cured the problem in CorelX4, and all my fonts displayed properly in the font dropdown menu and on the page. Then I downloaded and installed a new driver, and reset my Hardware Acceleration back to "Full". All my font functions are diplaying properly now - it was essentially a "refresh" problem.
If you have a font loaded twice in two different formats. One of them won't show up. You have to check for duplicate fonts in two different types. Open your Bitstream Font Navigator and look at your loaded fonts and make sure you only have one of the font style loaded and delete duplicate fonts. A real bummer is if you created a document at an earlier time and you open it up later and you have duplicated fonts, they will not show up on the page. You might have not noticed that they didn't show up and you print the job and then notice some type is missing.
