I have traced a pic using #2 pencil, pen, #1pencil, and fine felt tip and, after scanning and tracing, I end up with all double lines in the wireframe view.. The outline also has double lines. Since the image will be used for cutting, I need one clean line. If anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong or how to correct I would be most appreciative. Thank you.
Sounds like you have left the image at 24 bit or more (depending on what your scanner was set to)... If you just want the outline, convert your image to 1 bit b/w and also deselect the anti-aliasing and dithering. You should end up with one crisp outline.
Did exactly as you suggested and no improvement. Still getting 2 line objects both in the outline and internal lines. Also, double checked my scanner to see if there was a setting that could be changed to eliminate the problem but no luck.
Any more ideas? Appreciate it.

I'm not positive this is your issue, the multiple outlines could be the adjacent shapes created by the trace in X3. X3's trace doesn't have a centerline option, so using it for a line drawing may require some extra work. If you have draw 12, I believe it has a centerline option which may suite your needs.

I think Lynne is talking about the outlines which are created when tracing a line, for example if you trace a straight line you will end up with an object which has a outline and a fill, making it appear to have a double line. This is a real issue here as well, because as Lynne mentioned, if I trace a line I need to get a line in return so it can be engraved. Draw v.12 is the only help, but it's rather unfortunate to have to change to a previous version to do what X3 should do.
Thank you all. So Alfred, V12 works for you? Apparently your work is similar to what I'm doing except I cut metal. If I have to buy 12 I will but need to know that the lines will be only one, clear and concise line. Sounds like that's what your getting but would appreciate a confirmation before I spend more $.
Also, I probably shouldn't ask this here, but since it's Corel's problem, I'm going to anyway. I'm really frustrated over this problem and am thinking about buying another (hopefully cheaper) program that would be more suitable to my needs. Any suggestions.
adobe streamline, Flexisign (expensive), A product from Arbor Image(don't recall name or if they're around still) Some do arcs and some do lines. Streamline's not bad and it's the cheapest of the 3
Would it be Possible to post a pic, I scan and trace all the time for output either CNC or Vinyl cutter I just can't grasp what your real problem is..

If you want cheap you could always go http://www.inkscape.org/ - has tracing plug-ins too all completely free. Certainly not on par with Corel but ok
