Change Text in Postscript Fill

Hi,

I am attempting to add a postscript fill on top of an existing fill. Right now the postscript fill for text shows up as C's. I'm wondering if it is possible to change the text in the postscript fill (I am hoping to change it to dashes instead). If anyone has any helpful hints, I'd appreciate it!
