Photo-Paint crashes

Hello all. I'm having a Photo-Paint crash on one particular machine that I'm completely stumped on. It only happens on one machine, a new one we got recently that seems to only be different from most other machines on our network in that it has 64-bit hardware. I've tried this software under XP 32-bit and XP 64-bit, it crashes under both with an Access Violation while it's creating the environment shortly after launch. I've tried the program on a fresh OS install before installing other programs and I've tried it pre and post OS patching. I've run other parts of Corel V12, and it seems this only happens with the Photo-Paint part of the program. Also, we have two boxes of the product, I've tried installations with both sets of CDs since I thought one might have a corrupt installation on disk. Crashes with both sets of disks. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate them. Thanks, Jim

  • In view of what you already tried in order to solve the problem (which makes sense to me), I am beginning to think that there is a hardware problem on the machine. PhotoPaint has rarely given me crash problems on any type of computer or operating system. What if you temporarily swap the graphic card from an other machine to see if the crashing continues?
