I have been a Corel user since the 3.0 version and never had this happen before.....I worked for hours and hours creating a poster, saved it, this morning, it won't open. I get an "error reding file" message. I can see the file in the thumbnail, tried dragging it onto the desktop, all the tricks I know, nothing works, same message.
HELP
It sounds like it could be a corrupt file. The thumbnail associated with a corrupt cdr file can be corrupt and still viewable. If you could post a link for the file I could take a look at it.

Thanks for responding. How would I post a link? Why would it corrupt? I just built the poster last night, it was already supposed to be at the printer's this morning.
I have had the same problem, It only happens on the most difficult drawings, I had corel work on it for hours and paid them, it worked for about a week, then it started again, i reloaded corel, it worked for about two weeks, then started again, I finally switched computers, It hasn't happened yet on my new computer, Let me know if you find a fix, so I can use my other computer again,
Mine would come up: cannot open or import this file, it seemed like it did it on a new document that did not have a backup file created yet, and it seemed like it had something to do with the backup file not getting created correctly...
im having the same problem..how to fix these.. i dont want to do a file over and over again.. this happened to me twice ..
