Windows XP home, Corel draw 12, Dell Inspiron Laptop. I have the latest version of the graphic card driver available installed.
Working on a file I lose the graphic upon which I am working. CorelDraw menus and page stay, the graphic just disappears. If I save the file and reopen it magically reappears.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Rick
Hi Rick, Have you tried refreshing the screen by pressing CRTL+W? Give that a try and let us know if you still have trouble. Hope that helps! - Paul
Yes, we tried that with no result.
Hello! I have the same problem under Corel 12 and Corel X3. I've installed both under Vista, thought this was the problem, and then i've formatted my hdd and installed XP Sp2. I have a Toshiba Notebook with Ati Radeon X1200.
What mouse / mouse driver do you have... might sound unrelated, but I've had some strange behaviours with a trackpad which had the tendency of zooming to 10'000% with no reason. Updating the drivers for the mouse helped.

Hello,
I have a TouchPad, but this happends eaven with the zoom buttons from the toolbar! Refresh won't work either. I can see the workspace, but if i select the arrow tool and click - drag to select i can't see the dotted square. I can also see the page margins, so i don't think it's a mouse problem...
Works great in Illustrator CS3, but you know... :)
Thanks,
Alex
Have you reported this to the Corel technical support team? if yes, can you send me the reference number per email or private message so that I can have a look at it?
I had called technical support a long time ago with this problem, but they said it was likely a graphics driver or mouse driver issue. But now that it's showing up on other kinds of computers, I'm suspicious of that answer. I'm running an IBM Thinkpad (with an ATI Radeon video chipset) and using the TrackPoint third button scroll. I can pan horizontally but the images with a document go blank and I have to restart CorelDraw and reopen the file to see them again. Also, vertical scroll has never worked properly.
Any luck in finding out what might be the cause of this?
We are still trying to reproduce this problem internally... one area that we are suspecting is related to the trackpad... try reducing the sensitivity of your trackpad and disabling all advanced features related to it.
Anyone know the status of this problem? I have the same problem with corel 12 running on Win XP and with Corel X4 running on Vista (both laptops). I do use the scroll part of the touchpad a lot, but I still get the problem (less frequently) when I use the scroll wheel on my Bluetooth mouse.
I've been using CorelDraw since Windows 1 (that's before Windows 3.1), when Windows was a runtime included with CorelDraw. CorelDraw has always had goofy bugs like this that are never fixed. I have the same problem with CD12. Sometimes the graphic reappears, but usually it doesn't, so I kill the process and restart it. It's obviously a memory leak problem because it affects the entire O/S and gibbles the entire system. It's the only application I've ever seen that crashes Windows 2000. I've developed the habit of saving every few minutes so that I don't lose my work, and restarting CorelDraw and that's how I've worked ever since day 1, more than 20 years ago.
