Unfortunately earlier this year my system crashed and since it was some 12 yrs old I bought a new one with W10.
As much as I'd like to I cannot afford CDraw graphics suite 2017 x64 W10 version and even if I did I've been told by Corel support that my present .CDR files (XP) are not compatible with W10 ver. CRGS2017.
So, having only XP ver CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12.0. I am hoping that someone has come up with a way to install a working XP ver. in W10.
Sincerely
Carroll
Mine worked fine when it was first installed and I noticed no difference or problems. Then there was a Makers Update a few months ago to Win 10 and that pretty much killed it...I can get it going for a short while but then it stops working. Like you I refuse to pay the price for the latest version so am looking for any fixes or older versions that will work on a Win10 system
Hi Kelly
Maybe you have done this already, but, I'm wondering if the old version is uninstalled then reinstalled, if it would be more compatible with 10. I couldn't afford the new version to start with and didn't want it when Corel help told me that the W10 CDraw version wouldn't open my XP CDraw .cdr files. So I didn't want it but, for the heck of it I emailed 5 XP ver. .cdr files, each with different things on them, to an acquaintance, to see if she could open them with her W10 CDraw version. She had no problem opening them and nothing was missing or not working in the work space. Layers were all there and tools were functioning and she could add and remove lines, symbols and text, and all the layers kept their information, which, I guess is good to know, if I can ever afford to get the the W10 ver. Unfortunately, I don't think that's ever going to happen.
So, reinstalling the old version, may clear up the problems your coming up against but another update may start the same problem again.. For me I was able to resurrected my old PC and reinstalled XP and the CDraw XP ver. so I can at least keep working on my drawings, etc.
