Printing business cards in CorelDraw x3 - print alignment problem

OS WinXP and Win Vista 64 bit.

To print business cards, I selected Label AVERY 5371 - 2X 3.5 BusCr. Print preview looks good. There is no any visible alignment problems.

When printing is completed (Linen paper AVERY 5371), there is about 2 milimeters alignment problem for each card. I created my own tempale and the print is with the same results. The printer I use is Canon MP830 ink jet.

Any advice, required setups?

  • Do you mean that each card is larger / smaller than supposed to be or the (combined) image has shifted and / or is larger / smaller than supposed to be ?

If you have not tried this, make sure that the printer is not set for borderless printing.

or do you mean you're printing on both sides of the paper and they don'e
"line up" front-to-back like you want them to? If this is the case, I don't
think you'll ever get it to work on a home inkjet or laser - you don't have
the level of control on the transport mechanism needed for this.
      • It is nice to hear from you,

2 milimeters allignment problem for each printed card - It means, on the printed area of the business card 2 x 3.5", the image is shifted about 2 milimenters to the right side overlapping the area of the another image from the right that is also shifted. Printing is done only on one side.

I checked bordless printing setup and is right.

        • Can you post a screen shot of the print preview / imposition setup ?

          • First off, I know nothing about printing so this is a question/possible solution. Could you solve the problem by adjusting the position in the print layout using the x axis. In this case subtracting 2mm in this case. (to -40.26). I did change the measurement units to mm before opening the print preview.

          • Hi there please can you help me....

I publish to PDF using corel x3 and when i open my pdf it is blank?

            What can the problem be??

          • I worked in and owned businesses in the ID card and ID supply industries. We printed and die cut ID Badges in house. We would use color laser printers or good inkjet printers and then laminate and die cut many of the orders as PVC Card printer supplies are expensive. We tried a high end Canon printer once to print ID Badge reels logos, 80 to a sheet. It was a waste of time as we would have to adjust our layout for each job. www.idsupply.co can give technical support  and I will tell you this, Epson printers register and maintain dimensions without distortion. I don't think its a CorelDraw problem, its the printer messing with the printout.
