Will all functions work with Windows 10 or do I need to upgrade?
Has worked really well! THANK YOU!
Hat super gut funkltioniert! DANKE!!!!
I tried this and it worked! Awesome!
I had X3 previously installed on an XP system and did the free upgrade to Win10, and it upgraded fine and worked fine on that system. But when I got a new PC with Win10 preinstalled, attempting to install X3 gave me a notification that "CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 can't run on Windows. This app may decrease PC security or performance. Check for an updated app that runs on this version of Windows." And the Application log in Event Manager showed: Event 1018 from MsiInstaller: "The application 'CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3' cannot be installed because it is not compatible with this version of Windows. Contact the application vendor for an update.").
I've been suffering with my workaround of using CorelDRAW 9 (which installs fine) for a couple of years. I finally logged a ticket with Corel Technical Support, and got a quick predictably useless response that X3 is old and unsupported, but you could try clearing temporary files and user settings blah blah. I guess their tech support doesn't read community posts.
The only problem I had was that the dialog displayed by the initial Setup.msi was in Polish. But being basically familiar with the dialog sequence, and confirmation from Google Translate, that was no problem. And installing EN.msi next changed the setup dialogs to English. I did not try installing ISUS.msi, as I don't think it is necessary or useful to users.
I haven't done any heavy lifting yet, but a quick check showed PhotoPaint and DRAW to run just fine, just as responsive as on my XP system and on the system that got the free upgrade to Win10.
I know this thread is soooooo old but... If you want to install X3 in Windows 10 do this:
1. Run cmd as an administrator
2. Type (where x:\ is your CD/DVD driver letter)
msiexec.exe /i "x:\CGS13\setup.msi" TRANSFORMS="x:\CGS13\1045.MST" SETUPEXEDIR="x:\CGS13"
and hit Enter
3. Install additional languages and modules from CGS13 directory (FONTNAV.MSI etc.)
4. You're done.
CorelDRAW X3 works... sort of... even on my i7-8700K it's painfully slow but that's maybe the case of my 4K display. Who knows... but... There you goanyway.
