Hello all! Im a newbie to these forums! I have a question conserning printing. Im 24, and I work for a new home marketing company for the past 7 years that uses corel draw to design all of our displays, logos, sign drawings etc. We have switched to corel x3 and we are expirencing a printing issue with out HP 5000PS.. It seems that if the file going over spools anything over 500mb our printer will dump it. This is not so good cause it seems that it is a size thing. If i print anything over 30" x 40" the printer will dump the file reguardless as to what the file is (vector or bitmap). Corel draw 12 never had an issue as sever as this. We reguarly printed files that would spool upwards of 1.5 - 1.7 gig... At first i thought it was an issue with my printer, but when saving back down to corel 12 it prints fine. I cannot find any settings that differ between the two, but there is definatly some printing differences. Has anyone else expirenced this sort of problem? Thanks sooo much in advance!!!
The only printing problems I ran into in X3 was with the Xante. It required an updated driver. You could check for any updates and you also may want to try turning off print spooling and dump it directly to the printer. Might be an issue if you don't have enough printer memory, but it's worth a shot. Another little quirk we ran into in X3, was before we updated our driver we couldn't print halftones across the network, but only from the local printer. I'm surprised the printer is spitting out and error page. Older postscript printers would get clipping errors quite often and you could lower the number of points in curves (Postscript settings tab) or even just lower the Postscript Level to one or two and it would work.
HP5000 what? I am assuming by the size a Designjet.
Do you have all the X3 updates?
Is this HP postscript?
Ok ill have to check into how to have it rip directly to the printer and turn off spooling cause I'm not to sure how to do that. I did have updates as I just checked and installed them, I wonder if this makes that much of a difference??
Dave, I'm sorry, we are using an HP 5000 PS Designjet printer. Its a 6 color postscript printer. :)

Yes it can with an HP. During testing X3 had issues with GCC and HP printers however the service updates solved all that I know of with the HP printers.
