Hi, I hope someone can help me with this matter. I've just installed X3 Suite and find that the grid is much more obtrusive than under Corel 9, which I had before. Is there any way to define the appearance of the grid dots (more like big fat crosses) or have them display in a paler colour?
I will be most grateful for any assistance I can get on this.
Many thanks

Hi Norman,
I can't remember if X3 works exactly the same as X5, but it probably does. If you go into Tools>Options and expand the Document heading (if it is not already expanded) you should see Grid, which gives the grid options. Below is a screen capture:
The only choices for the style of the Grid are lines or dots. You can change the opacity, colour and spacing, and turn snapping on or off. If you change the spacing of your grids and/or turn snapping on and off quite often - you may want to download this free macro.
Best regards,Brian.
X3 does not have the Pixel Grid features. You can change the color. see attached. Just pick a paler color.

Thanks for that information, Jack. I can't remember anything about X3 these days....I struggle to even remember what was in X4 at times. Must be getting old.

You're not old yet. When you get there you won't ever remember the features you just used yesterday to accomplish an effect and now you can't dulicate it without a releaning by experimentation. I just happened to still have X3 on my computer.

I remember that "upgrade"
You can't have what you had in 9. Sorry, but you can have 'dots' Go to that page Brian showed and select 'as dots' instead of 'as lines', then in your object manager, change the color to the lightest gray you can, Frustration Warning: You can only go so light, like 20% gray? after that it doesn't change. I used to have 4 dots per inch, not to keep it unubtrusive it I keep it at 2 dots per inch.
Good luck.
Brian, Mike, Jack, many thanks for your advice. I've changed the grid colour to pale grey, as Mike suggested but of course if the element is filled with dark colour...
Again, many thanks, guys!
