I have a .CDR file I downloaded but can't open.
I tried opening it in CorelDraw 7 but I get the error that it was created with a newer version of CorelDraw - but I have no idea which!
Is there any easy way to find out what version was used to create it?
I have tried opening the file in Inkscape (a free vector graphics editor program) but the file does not render properly, I suspect it needs to be opened in CorelDraw proper.

I received a file from a friend/colleague on the other art of the globe, with the classic *.cdr extension, and I have been fighting with my CorelDraw X3 without success! So if there was a way or a right-click/property info to let me know the exact upper version, it would have saved me much hassles; and it might even help me decide what nxt version to upgrade to. And with some files bring proprietary, one can't always share such. CorelDraw can and should do something about it. Nice read tho. Rgds.
Right click/ properties go to "Details" tab, it should show the version, but it works for X3 or newest, older versions doesn't show version
