No, I believe that system resore only recovers operating system files (not user generated files).

But you are very vague. How exactly did you lose them?  Did you delete them? Did they just inexplicably disappear?  Was there a filesystem corruption? Did the disk drive die?  There are ways to recover deleted files, and sometimes even recover files from corrupted filesystems. Also, even if the disk drive died there are often ways to recover files from a dead drive (but that is an expensive process).  Tell us more.
