I want to set a 3 rows of 40 small circles centered along the inside of an outline,( no fill number 2 and 6). I don't seem to be able to do this like you would for text to a path.
It would be like fitting circles in a cribbage board.

make 1 circle & duplicate it, move the other one some distance apart, use the blend tool and drag one circle to the other, adjust the number of duplicates as needed (38). not with that blend group selected choose new path in the tools at the top, click on the line and adjust the ends of the blend as you like.
