On some Windows7 machines I'm finding the drop down flyout tools do not pop out at all, like the line tools button or rectangle tools. You can click and hold over them but the pop up with the other tools never displays. You can click on the black triangle on the lower-right corner or hold down, neither work. Was this ever a known bug with X4 on Windows7 PCs? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks
Hello turgo6; I have X4 and X6 32 & 64 bit and don't have any problems with the fly out's. ( What kind of mouse driver are you using? ).
George
No special mice or drivers, just straight usb MS brand on an IBM tower. I see this more commonly with 64 bit.
Is that really a problem of flyouts not appearing? Did you notice that Corel DESIGNER does not use flyouts in the tool box by default?
Here's a tip that describes the tool box behavior in Corel DESIGNER in more detail.
(the tip is referring to Corel DESIGNER X5, but the tool box acts the same in Corel DESIGNER X4)
Note that full Windows 7 support was only introduced with Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X5.
Thanks Klaus. You can see what the X4 looks like below, it does not show the additional flyouts at the bottom as options like X5. Hence the problem. You can put it back to Micrografx Designer workspace, which is what we do since the the flyouts don't work. I'm guessing this is a PC issue, not Corel. Because on 99% of the computers we've serviced this isn't a problem. But since it has not been a common problem, we really don't know what features on a PC that could cause this. I always figured it was a laptop fingerpad issue but it just came up on a PC. Using the other workspace will do, I just wondered if there was a better fix while using the default X4 workspace.
That's really odd. The tool box looks like in flyout mode, but you've mentioned that this is how it appears with default "flydown" mode used where the tools should definitely appear in a space below the Zoom and Pan (hand) tool.
You can try switching to Flyout mode (in the Options dialog as described in the Tip mentioned in the previous post) and then switch back to see if that recreates the tool box with the intended behavior.
The only other recommendation we can give at this stage is to reset the workspace to default settings by starting Corel DESIGNER X4 application with F8 key pressed (hold).
Best regards,Klaus.
