Corel Designer crashes when the File-dropdown menu is clicked

Hello Corel community,

I am having this weird problem with Corel Designer. Whenever I click on the File-dropdown menu the software crashes. All the other softwares in the Technical Suite work just fine and even in Designer I can go around the problem by using shortcut keys to save, print, open, etc. All the updates have been successfully installed and the software is functioning well otherwise. This problem only becomes an issue when I forget to save my work and accidentally click on the menu. Is there some easy fix to overcome this problem?

This is not an issue we are familiar with.

When you said all updates have been successfully applied, do you mean program updates or Windows updates? If you mean Windows updates, what operating system are you using?

Have you performed any customization to the application? If so, could you perhaps try holding the F8 key down when launching the application to reset the workspace to default to see if it addresses the issue?

Thanks for your response Sharon. Both the software and Windows should be updated to the latest version. The Windows version that I'm running is 1703 (Windows Enterprise 10). I also tried resetting the workspace but the problem still persists. The issue might be caused by something not related to Corel but I would greatly appreciate it if you would inform me should you find a solution to this.

If it helps in troubleshooting, the software crashed again with the following error message: "The instruction at 0x000000002BDAFE4D referenced memory at 0x0000000000000000. The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program".
