• Tip of the week: Quickly getting into, and out of a PowerClip

     Powerclip is a popular feature that allows you contain one object inside another. Once you have a PowerClip on the page, pressing the <CTRL> key and clicking on the object will enter edit mode. Once in edit mode, if you hold the <CTRL> key and click on the desktop area you will exit editing mode and return to your entire document.

  • The Tip of the week: Creating custom color palettes

    It's very easy to create a custom color palette that is based on the colors of your drawing. Click Window -> Color Palettes -> Creates Palette From Document. If you would like to include only colors from selected objects, click Create Palette From Selection instead. You have now created your own custom color palette!

  • Tip of the week: Quickly change fill and outline color applied to objects

    You can quickly add 10% tint of a color to a selected object. If you want to change the fill color, hold down Ctrl, and click a color swatch on the RGB or CMYK color palette. If you want to change the outline color, hold down Ctrl, and right-click a color swatch on the RGB or CMYK color palette. It's that easy!

  • Setting a large drawing scale

    CorelDRAW lets you draw real-world distances to scale without using large pages. Right-click a ruler, and click Ruler Setup. Next, click the Edit Scale button in the Options dialog box, and enter a higher value in the World Distance box. If you work in inches, for example, and you change the drawing scale to 1:40, you can represent almost 30 feet on a letter-size page!

  • Quickly copying outline and fill properties...

    CorelDRAW offers you a fast and easy way to copy outline and fill properties from one object to another. Simply right-click the object whose properties you would like to copy and drag it on top of the object that you would like to modify. Then, click the Copy All Properties command from the context menu, and you are done!
