QR code need to work with print merge

qr codes should be part of print merge feature. When doing QR codes it is time consuming to re-type each QR code. Your opposition does it and has been for years. It needs to resolved or people like myself will move to another software package.

Why not buy ecut and then you can do that - plus so much more (like variable imaging), right inside Coreldraw X3 through 2022? It's under 69.00 USD. It can even output codes as vectors or bitmaps.

interesting. I think it may not work as I need to control the type of QR code that needs to be generated and it is also located on a plate with other data. Adobe has a solution and it may be the way I have to go.
Corel has just not paid much attention to print merge and its functionality. To charge additional for the feature that in reality does not do what it is supposed to do is forcing me to move to Adobe Indesign as it just works.

Why do you assume it does neither of these things? I only showed a small test... it does much more, and of course it works in more complicated variable imaging situations.

If you've already paid for ID then i suppose you could learn their method. If you prefer the CorelDRAw environment all 3rd party developers can do is offer additional features for reasonable prices.

Maybe so, but that's why developers can fill in the blanks for features that meet very specific needs. Not every Draw user needs QR codes. The Draw suite itself is a great value, esp compared to Adobe suite.. Picking up a few extra tools to do specific work is not a big deal, we sell items like ecut every single day.

OK, so if Corel had this ability built in, would you pay 1000.00 for CorelDRAW now? Probably not. What you are expecting is for Corel Developers to offer very esoteric features at half the price of their competition. They have no obligation to do that. I prefer the Corel model: it's more affordable to everyone to get some basic design tools. If you need specialized features, they are available, and have been for many years. For many of us here, working in Adobe products is an illogical, frustrating experience. That's why we prefer CorelDRAW for 20+ years.

If you are commenting on behalf of Corel, the guys at Adobe must really like you.
I do not believe the transition to Adobe would be as difficult as you have suggested.
Print merge in Corel has always been a sort of feature that sort of got attention. It has potential to be a powerful feature, it needs so work. Over the years Corel has developed some impressive features and added to its software and NOT become a super expensive product.

I have stayed loyal to Corel for a long time (going back alot longer than I can remember) and it was not about price.

I'm commenting as a power user, enthusiast, and 3rd party developer. I get real work done with Corel products. I find Adobe products to be used by stressed-out designers forced to use those convoluted products.

Basic print merge came in I think version 2 or 3 - way back around 1995. Not much had changed since the early days. That's why I envisioned monstermerge, I think it was the first tool to allow such flexible variable imaging inside Draw.
