Object Manager

Simon says that when selecting object(s) in the Object Manager,
it could be useful to have an "automatic zoom' of the area of this/those selected object(s).

I think it's a very good idea because most of the time you don't see them
(and probably don't know which one of them it is).

I think this must be added as a Feature Request.

Maybe a modifier key like ALT could be used when selecting to do that.

well, you can select the object on the Object Manager and press Shift+F2

Among the most dysfunctional aspects of CorelDraw's object manager is that it expands to show a zillion little tiny pieces of things in the art. It would be fine if there were more options but there are only two. The first option of expanding the layer, pushes everything beneath it off the screen. Layers and Palettes beneath it disappear and have to be manually brought back into view, over and over and over. It's unworkable. Or, work totally blindly with regard to what layer and object is on. If you turn off the expanding hell thing the other option creates a situation where you click on an object in the document, and the layer gives you absolutely no indication of what layer that object is on. You're working blindly. Also, totally unworkable.

What I've been talking about for years is that there simply needs to be a 3rd option. A really simple one. When you click on an object in the document, the layer(object manager) will give an indication of what layer it's on. That's it. Nothing fancy whatsoever. For example, Illustrator just shows a tiny dot on the layer of the currently selected object. It tells me, the object I have selected is on this particular layer. It doesn't expand and push all the other layers and palettes off the screen. If I want to see all the tiny minutia of objects in a piece of art, that is also an option.
