Hi,
Does anyone know why CD has so many artsy-fartsy spray patterns that look like fun for childrens school projects, but don't even have a basic hatch, crosshatch or stipple template in the Spray menu. The most basic feature of any drawing program. Is it an added plug in you can buy, but I haven't found it anywhere.
Search the threads as there are several discussions on this with a few techniques suggested. I don't think there is a solid solution.
Also, for stipple check this site out: http://www.evilmadscientist.com/2012/stipplegen2/
If you are using CorelDraw, and are trying to fill closed curves with a hatch or crosshatch, then you might try using the HatchFill macro.
Thanks David, This is a long rant, but I hope it may be useful for others too. I have had a quick browse thru your link, and it appears that it is a stipple 'texture'(?) filter for existing images. It is a useful tool and I might look into it if the need arises, but I have conceded you are correct about no solid solution. I had a similar post about 'stipple' techniques last year and the response was good, but it was all about saving generic stipple in the Custom spraylist. The conclusion I reached is that hand rendered stipple is impossible in vector and must be done in bitmap. It appears you can also forget about Power Tracing it to Vector as denser stipple just fill in. The whole idea of traditional stipple shading is that 1. You have to do it quickly and that simply can't be achieved with nodes, bounding boxes or connector lines flying all over the place. Then having to stop every 30 seconds to Combine and endless length of curves to one Curve. 2. You can't create generic custom spraylists of stipple because every (flat) subject matter that you want to create a stipple tone for is going to have a different contour. 3. Another weird & wonderful CD quirk is, on the advice of previous CD Community members, about Stipple, was how to 'Create a Custom spraytone', , when I *( just for the exercise) ended up making several crosshatch & stipple brushstrokes (on a new page), and then added it to my Custom spraylist, my previous brushstroke was deleted from the list. Only the most recent custom brushstroke was saved. I might have to enquire about this on a separate post if you don't have any hints. Which brings me back to the first question, (& have to be blunt) about why there are so much artsy-fartsy junk in the spraylists at the expense of professional tools such as Stipple & cross hatch. It's just adds insult to the time wasting scrawling thru these help & community menus.. Very disappointing program.
