Custom monument display sign for clients, 3d design did in another program.
Great work Jim! What program do you use for the 3d renderings? Could they be in color if you needed them to be?
Thank you sir..I use Sketchup mostly for the 3d models..And yes they could be in color and rendered to look more real but I like them to be an ad on to the Corel design, not to over power the deign so I tend to just show in gray scale or black and white..I been say for years if your in the sign trade and tou not showing oersepepers viewed you so behind the times..Who want to see a flat view??..The 3d model help the customer understand you complex designs and there is not misunderstanding th details for the estimaters..
Couldn't agree more! I will absolutely be looking into Sketchup. I do many isometric views in CorelDraw now, but nothing that would give me those results. How long did it take you to be efficient using Sketchup? Is it a difficult program to learn?
If you look at my older sign designs I did all the views in Corel but just took to long ..From 2-4 hours to do... I can do most design in Sketchup in 45 min. To 2 hours, that time saved. When I worked for YESCO they had a one day class on Sketchup and Ilearned the basics in a week to the point I could start design in it, that was almost 8 years ago..I use it everyday for projects..I charge more for the 3d model designs and customers are willing to pay for it when they see the results..
Very stylish, this one! Cool look! It has a Disneyish look to it...I'd see it in a theme-park-kinda site...
