I have heard many incidences where something or a sittuation changed a script. For example, the scene where Indiana Jones shoots the guy wielding the sword. From what I read, there was supposed to be an extended fight sequence, Indy was supposed to beat the guy into submmission. But, being on location, Harrison Ford developed the trots...he was ill, and had enough filming for the day. So when the shot came to be filmed, he didn't feel like doing the scene and suggested to Spielburg that just shot the guy. It would be funny and memorable. And he was right. One of the best scenes in the film is owed to gastro intestinal discomfort...to put it mildly.
