    @PommyJosh

    Thanks for the suggestion.  My solution in Draw was to convert several layers of filled bezier shapes to bitmaps and then apply Gaussian blur to each.  That got me to what you see.

    I admit to a certain (unfortunate) fixation on vector which I find hard to break..
